Credits (also called buy-backs or purchases)

As a Tier One or Tier Two member, you can purchase the following retirement credits if you qualify:

• Disability periods
• Educational service
• Forfeited service time
• Military service
• Police officers and firefighters
• Prior service
• Seasonal positions
• Waiting time

Purchasing retirement credits for disability period, education service, and some types of military service requires you to make a full cost purchase.
