Elect to be a legislator member of the state deferred comp program (Oregon Savings Growth Plan) |
Decline to participate in a retirement plan for legislative service |
NO PRIOR PERS MEMBERSHIP: You must choose to be a member of the state deferred comp program (Oregon Savings Growth Plan) within 30 days of taking office or you will not be able to participate in a retirement plan for your legislative service. |

RETIRED TIER ONE MEMBER: You must make one of the available elections within 30 days of taking office in each term or you will remain a retired Tier One member and will not accrue additional benefits for the legislative service. Regardless of the election, you can continue to receive retirement benefits for non-legislative service. However, any retirement benefit for past legislative service will stop and you will have to reapply for those benefits after leaving legislative service. |
