You are eligible for credit under this federal act if you were an employee of a PERS-participating employer An employer who participates in the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). who left a qualifying position A qualifying position is one in which an employee will perform 600 or more hours of service in a calendar year in one or more jobs with one or more participating public employers. to serve in the Uniformed Services and were re-employed before December 12, 1994. The Uniformed Services includes service in the United States Armed forces, Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service, and any other category of persons designated by the president in time of war or national emergency.
If qualified, you are entitled to retirement credit at no cost to you.
