If you are new to public service and were hired on or after August 29, 2003, you become an OPSRP Pension Program member if you work six full calendar months in a qualifying position for an OPSRP-participating public employer. Your six-month waiting period cannot be interrupted by more than 30 consecutive working days and must be served with the same employer.
Your OPSRP Pension Program membership effective date is the first day of the month after you completed the waiting period, provided you are still employed with the same participating employer on that day.
